Trésor Senior

The Trésor Senior series are novels for Grades 10-12 Core/Basic French or Grades 7-9 Extended/Immersion.

There are 5 titles in the Trésor Senior literacy series which have been researched and developed specifically for French as a Second Language students. These novels explore age-appropriate themes for senior FSL students and are linked to the New Provincial Guidelines. The aim is to increase fluency by enticing students to read more en français. These supplementary literacy resources strive to advance oral communication and differentiated instruction as well as critical and robust thinking.

Language is about social practices and relationships, and learning a language is a social event. It is critical that as students develop language skills in reading and writing, they also have opportunities to speak and learn from each other. In the Trésor Senior series, students will be assisted by critical thinking in sidebars to assist with comprehension and to stimulate discussion and recognition of personal links to the material being read.
