WHY DO I NEED THIS HANDBOOK?

TEACHERS
• To know what the student can do with the acquisition of oral language.
• To assess the students' language level against internationally recognized levels.
• To provide parents meaningful reporting that describes what a student can do with the language rather than give a grade or letter.

ADMINISTRATORS
• To conceive and/or produce language programs that are aligned to internationally recognized levels.
• To provide and/or develop evaluation instruments to measure students' language development in a language understood by all educators.
• To compare the students' levels with other language learners within and across school boards, provinces and countries

PARENTS
• To know what my child can do with the language (as opposed to knowing about the language) in a language that is positive and easy to understand.
