PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy is in connection with Personal Information collected, used or disclosed by RK Publishing on Individuals and schools who interact with RK Publishing Inc and it applies to the management of Personal Information in any form whether written, oral, or electronic. RK Publishing Inc. reserves the right to change or amend this Privacy Policy at any time and at their discretion.

The Privacy Policy and its application will conform to the requirements or provisions of any applicable legislation, regulations or agreements (such as collective agreements), or the instructions of any court or other lawful authority.

Purposes for the Collection, Use and Transfer of Personal Information:
RK Publishing Inc. has collected, continues to collect and use Personal Information for the following purposes: 1) to establish and maintain commercial relations and to provide ongoing service to  Individuals; 2) to understand the needs of Individuals; 3) to develop, enhance, market or provide products and services; 4) to protect or defend  legal interests and to meet legal or regulatory requirements; and 5) to manage and develop its business and operations, including personnel and employment matters. RK Publishing Inc. shall collect Personal Information by fair and lawful means and limit the collection of Personal Information to that which is necessary for the purposes identified in this policy document. As an example RK Publishing may occasionally use an Individual’s Personal Information to contact the Individual about changes, enhancements or information related to RK Publishing’s products and services. If an Individual indicated that they were interested in receiving promotions or information from RK Publishing, materials, products and services may be sent that RK Publishing feels are relevant to the Individual.

RK Publishing Inc. sometimes transfers Personal Information to third parties, including  affiliated entities or unrelated companies (“service providers”), that provide certain services on our behalf, such as order processing, data processing, customer service, accounting, administrative services and information technology services including, without limitation, hosting and data storage services. RK Publishing stipulates that these service providers not use or disclose Individuals’ Personal Information for any purpose unless it is approved by RK Publishing. Some of these service providers may be located outside of Canada and RK Publishing Inc. takes reasonable contractual or other measures to protect Individuals’ Personal Information while processed or handled by these service providers.  If an Individual’s Personal Information is located outside of Canada it will be subject to the legal requirements in those foreign countries, for example, the lawful requirements to disclose Personal Information to government authorities in those countries.

Obtaining Consent:
If RK Publishing Inc uses your Personal Information in a manner different than as expressed herein or requires new or additional Personal Information, we will inform Individuals how their Personal Information will be used by RK Publishing Inc. and we will obtain consent from Individuals before it uses the Personal Information.  RK Publishing Inc. will not attempt to deceive Individuals into giving consent.

An Individual’s consent can be written, verbal, implied, or given through an authorized representative and can be withdraw at any time, with the following exception. RK Publishing Inc. may collect, use or disclose Personal Information without the Individual’s knowledge or consent in exceptional circumstances where such collection, use or disclosure is permitted or as required by law. In general, the use of products and services by an Individual implies consent for RK Publishing to collect, use and disclose Personal Information for all identified purposes, so long as the Individual has been made aware of the terms of this Privacy Policy

Refusing or withdrawing Consent:
An Individual can refuse to consent to RK Publishing Inc. collection, use or disclosure of Personal Information about the Individual, or an Individual may withdraw, at any time with reasonable notice, the Individual’s consent to RK Publishing Inc. further collection, use or disclosure of Personal Information, unless the consent is required by law. If an Individual refuses to consent or withdraws his or her consent where such consent relates to the production services requested, RK Publishing Inc. may not be able to provide or continue to provide the Individual, with such products, services or information.

Internet Aspects:
Information may be collected when an Individual visits the RK Publishing Inc. website. Although the information collected, used or disclosed on the Internet as described below often does not constitute Personal Information (and the obligations under the Privacy Policy does not apply), RK Publishing Inc. provides details below about the Internet aspects of RK Publishing Inc. services for the purposes of disclosure.

Links To Other Sites And Advertisements
RK Publishing Inc. services may contain links to other websites and services. While RK Publishing Inc. tries to link only to sites and services that share RK Publishing Inc.’s high standards and respect for privacy, a user should understand that RK Publishing Inc. is not responsible for the content of, or the privacy practices used by other companies or websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the RK Publishing Inc. services related to this Privacy Policy.

Exclusions from privacy protection:
The Privacy Policy does not impose any limits on the collection, use or disclosure of the information by RK Publishing Inc. that is otherwise determined not to be Personal Information, or is not regulated by, applicable privacy legislation. Another exclusion from the privacy protection is for aggregate information that cannot be connected with a specific Individual, such as demographic statistics about RK Publishing Inc. customers, or the number of visitors and average time spent on a website. 

Note to Children
RK Publishing Inc does not knowingly accept any Personal Information from or about children.  Teachers and parents must provide their own information (Personal Information or otherwise) in order for students to participate in our services or products.

Changes to Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is effective as of June 30th, 2011.  If RK Publishing Inc. makes a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will post these changes on our website.
